Water : From nutrient to sustainability

With the increasing demand for animal protein, the pressure on water will further increase and challenge our future. Poultry proteins have an advantage over most animal proteins, regarding the water saving physiology of birds. But water is an essential component of lean meat and is also key for a better health and a safe environment.

International well-known scientists and feed industry representatives will address those topics during the Opening Conference of the WPC: from the water footprint of poultry production, the  importance of the quality of water given to poultry, the challenge of the genetic progress on the protein deposition and its associated water, the importance of managing water losses to the relationship between water and gut microbiota.
